Crafters Companion - Love Is In The Air

Crafters Companion Blog Challenge - Love Is In The Air.

I'd like to enter the following card in this month's CC Blog Challenge - Love Is In The Air.  This is my favourite image from the SWALK range and thought that it is an ideal image to use for the love theme.  In Wales we have the opportunity to celebrate Valentine's Day twice!  As well as the traditional day in February, we have the Welsh Valentine's Day (Dydd Santes Dwynwen) on 25th January. The Patron Saint of Welsh Lovers is Saint Dwynwen.

All of the products I used for this card (except for silver mirror board and embellishments) has been purchased from Crafters Companion.  The SWALK image is the iconic image from SWALK and stamped onto Neenah card.  The image was coloured in with Spectrum Noir pens.  The following pens were used - hair - Natural Oak - 91 (TN8), Mahogany - 96 (TN7), face and skin - Baby Skin Pink - 133 (FS3), Milky White - 132 (FS2), clothes - Pale Baby Blue - 144 (TB2), Pale Blue Light - 185 (TB1), hearts - Rose Pink - 8 (PP5), surround of image - Warm Grey 0.5 ( BG1). The backing paper is from the first SWALK CDROM and printed onto blue paper from the specialised printable paper pack and main card (6"x 6") is made from blue card from specialised pastel card pack. I've also added a blue ribbon and heart diamonte buckle as a finishing touch!!  Hope you like it!

I'm still trying to master colouring with Speccies esp with shading.  So any comments about how I could improve will be greatly appreciated.  Thank you in advance.

Thanks for stopping by and having a read of my blog.  I will have to start to posting more often but I'm snowed under with cross stitching projects.  I have a baby sampler to finish by early next month.  I will post a photo as soon as it is finished.

Happy crafting everyone.

Crafters Companion Challenge 19 - New Beginnings.

I would like to enter the two following cards into the New Beginnings - Crafters Companion's Blog Challenge 19 for December.

I've made both of these card previously. I had some lovely positive comments from people about these cards.

The first is a Christening card using the Peter Rabbit cdrom from the Beatrix Potter Collection.

This card was a commissioned card for one of my regular customers.  I used the Peter Rabbit cdrom for the decoupage, backing paper and insert.  I used the A3 Snow white card from CCompanion to make the A4 card.  To try something different I printed the sentiment onto acetate and on the reverse I sprayed CC Spray and Sparkle Iridescent then mounted this onto silver mirror board.  I thought that this was different and the recipient was thrilled with the card for her Godson.

The second card is "First Day at School" card I made for my nephew, Kian.

I used the Popcorn the Bear stamp (from one of the Kids Collection stamps), coloured with promarkers (this was one of my first attempts at colouring with alcohol markers.  I've since switched to Spectrum Noirs.), Popcorn Kids Collection CDROM for the backing paper and matching insert, A4 pastel yellow card to make an A5 card and gold mirror card for matting and layering.

My nephew loved this card and so did my brother and sister in law.

Thank you for stopping by to look at my posting.  Please feel free to comment and offer any criticism or advice you may like to add.  Thank you in advance.

Humphrey's Corner Christmas cards.

Hello everyone! I've been busy making Christmas cards to complete orders and I went to my chapel's coffee morning where I sold a lot of cards and had more orders!  Everyone loved Humphrey and The Snowman.

The cards with the box for tealights and chocolate have proved extremely popular.  I've included photos of two of the cards I've completed.  I've been selling them for £5 complete with an envelobox.  Do you think that this is a fair price?  My customers seem to think this is, but others have said I'm not charging enough.  What is your opinion?  I'd love to know your opinion.  Thanks.

I'm getting organised now with my cards for Christmas.  Nearly finished my orders just need to make a couple of cards for myself then I'm all done!  Christmas shopping though that it is another matter!  I've bought one present so far!  Note to self - must get organised!!!!

Thanks for looking.

I really enjoy making the cards with the box attached for a little gift.  I also make an envelobox.  I've used tealight candles in the first card and Milky Bar buttons in another.  I've also made some with the chocolate Chrismas puddings and Santas.

I've used the Humphrey Christmas decoupage from the Christmas pack, the sentiments were taken from the Humphrey Christmas stamps, the backing paper and matching insert from the Humphrey Christmas CD, the card is from Crafters Companion - I use either Snow Pearl or Ivory - large sheets usually 16" x 16".  I use the Ultimate Pro to make the card and envelobox.  The only part of the card that is not from Crafters Companion is the gold mirror card and embellishments - bow (made on the bowmaker included on the Ultimate Pro and Anita's Glitter Stick on Peel Offs).

Thank you for looking and please feel free to comment.  I love reading them.

Crafters Companion Challenge 18 - Let it snow!

I have been a busy bee lately making various commissioned cards as well as still trying to recover from the flu and chest infection.  This ME has a lot to answer for it makes every symptom ten times worse!!  I've been having fun making various cards with my Humphrey's Corner Christmas decoupage.  I've decided to enter this easel card into the Crafters Companion Let it snow! challenge.

I always use Crafters Companion products for my cards, though there are a few exceptions on this one! The card is from the Christmas Centura Pearl pack, Humphrey's Corner Christmas decoupage, Humphrey's stamp "Let it snow", My Craft Studion snow and glitter was used, silver mirror card, snowflakes were made using Spellbinder snowflake dies and blue gems to finish them off!

Hope you like it!
Thanks for looking and I look forward to reading your comments.

Commissioned cards

I haven't been able to post any pages for a while as I've been ill with a chest infection and flu.  Unfortunately, with my ME the symptoms are more acute and have been left feeling incredibly weak.  However, crafting has been my saviour!  The beauty of cardmaking is that you can pick up your crafting for a while and then put it down when you've had enough.

I've had a few orders to complete for the month of November which I have completed now.  They are pictured below.  I always use Crafters Companion products except for Tatty Teddy CDROM, Forever Friends CDROM and  gold and silver mirror card!

I adore Humphrey's Corner.  I thought that this would be perfect for a little girl's first birthday.  I used the Humphrey CDROM where I printed out the birthday party framed card, matching backing paper and insert.  I mounted the backing paper on A4 silver mirror board and the card I used was A3 snow white card scored to A4 size. I printed personalised greeting onto A4 printable paper.

The Flower Faeries are always so popular with my customers.  As the young lady's birthday is in Winter I used the Fairyopolis Winter CDROM with the Snowdrop Fairy.  I made the card in the same way as the Humphrey's Corner card the only addition was a cream bow.

Tatty Teddy is another popular character.  This card was made in the same way as the others.  Only I used the Especially For You CDROM .

I thought this image would be perfect for a Christening. I used the original Forever Friends CDROM.  I printed the main image onto printable acetate then sprayed Spray and Sparkle Irridescent onto the rear of the image.  I mounted the image onto cream card and then gold mirror card.  I then made the card in the same way as the other two.

Thank you for looking at my blog.  Please would you leave me some comments as I would love to know what you fellow crafters think.  I'd like to thank you in advance.

Happy crafting.   Sarahxxxxx

Crafters Companion Challenge 16 - Christmas Wishes

I've never entered any blog competitions before but this month I am going to take the plunge and enter the Crafters Companion Christmas Wishes competion.

I've decided to enter one of my Snowmen cards (below).  I love the Snowman and used my Speccies for colouring in the stamped image and this was one of my first attempt with the pens!!!

Humphrey's Corner

I have been away for the past couple of weeks in Lanzarote enjoying hot, sunny weather.  I may have had a break from cardmaking but I took my cross stitching with me and had many wonderful comments from people as I was stitching by the pool! Now I'm back and finding it a bit cold!!! I was so excited when I found out that Humphrey was being launched with a Christmas CD ROM and stamps this week.  I've ordered them and will be stalking the poor postman until he arrives with my parcel!!

Whilst on holiday I had a text from a lady I make cards for and she wanted one for her nephew's first birthday.  I immediately thought that Humphrey would be perfect.  So out came the Everyday Humphrey decoupage I received shortly before I went away.  I love the die cut decoupage.  The pieces came out of the sheet so easily and the picture is so effective with so many layers.  I used a backing paper and insert from the Humphrey CD and made an envelobox to accompany it.

The lady I made the card for was absolutely thrilled with the card.  She had never seen Humphrey before but fell in love with him.  I was telling her how popular he had become and she was just one of many fans!!!  She was so thrilled with the card she has commissioned me to make two more cards!! So that will keep me busy!

Happy Crafting.  Sarahxxxxxx
